The Québec City Convention Centre Renews Its AIPC Quality Standards Gold Level Certification

Nominations and Awards Press releases

The Québec City Convention Centre is proud to announce the renewal of its AIPC Quality Standards Gold Level Certification, awarded by the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) following an independent external audit. The Convention Centre has held this distinction since 2011, and its renewal confirms that it continues to meet the highest international standards for convention centre management, governance and operations.

Developed exclusively for the convention centre industry, the AIPC Quality Standards program remains the only international certification specifically designed to assess the management practices of convention centres. It evaluates 11 key areas of management, including service quality, operations, governance, health and safety, human resources, social responsibility, sustainability, accessibility, and relationships with clients, suppliers and the community.

The renewal of this certification reflects the Québec City Convention Centre’s ongoing commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. The audit highlighted the comprehensive and thoroughly documented nature of the submission, as well as the strength of the management practices supporting it

This Gold certification is much more than recognition of our internal practices. It aligns perfectly with our vision to be a model of excellence and innovation among convention centres at home and around the world. For our clients and partners, it also represents a mark of trust. When they choose the Québec City Convention Centre, they know they are working with an anything-but-conventional team that meets the highest international standards and strives for excellence at every event,” said Caroline Lepage, President and CEO of the Québec City Convention Centre.

AIPC President Julianne Jammers also praised the achievement: “Successfully renewing AIPC Gold Certification demonstrates an ongoing commitment to excellence, continuous improvement and international best practice. We congratulate the Québec City Convention Centre on maintaining this important industry benchmark and its dedication to delivering outstanding performance for clients, partners and the wider community.”

Beyond the international recognition, this recertification highlights the many initiatives implemented in recent years to advance the organization, particularly in the areas of sustainability, accessibility, cybersecurity, governance, staff training and community engagement. The audit results confirm the Convention Centre’s commitment to continually exceeding client expectations and helping strengthen Québec City’s reputation as a leading business destination.

By renewing its Gold certification, the Québec City Convention Centre strengthens its position as a leader in the convention industry and reaffirms its commitment to providing a high-performing, responsible and innovative environment for the benefit of its clients, partners and the entire community. This distinction is particularly meaningful as the Convention Centre celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026. It reflects three decades of dedication and innovation focused on advancing the organization and delivering an outstanding experience to its clients.
