IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium awarded business event of the year

With close to 600 influencers from Québec’s business community in attendance, IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium received the Fidéides for business event of the year.

The Québec City Convention Centre CEO, Mr. P.-Michel Bouchard, presented Ms. Monique Bernier from the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) with the award. Thanks to Ms. Bernier who worked to bring the event to Québec City, IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium attracted 1,900 scientists and researches from 63 countries in Québec City July 13 to 17, 2014. The event’s economic impact was significant for the region, generating more than 5,000 room-nights and $4,3M in tourism expenditure.

Québec Chamber of Commerce gives out each year the Fidéides during an award ceremony to recognize excellence in business.
