
The President of the Société du Centre des congrès de Québec’s Board of Directors, Mr. Alain Aubut, and the Québec City Convention Centre’s President and CEO, Ms. Caroline Lepage, are pleased to announce the nomination of Mr. Martin Fortier as a new administrator. The Government of Québec announced his appointment on December 10, 2025.
Martin Fortier is Associate Vice-President for Internationalization and for the Valorization of Research, Creation, and Innovation at Université Laval, where he helps shape the institution’s strategic directions in research and innovation. A researcher and administrator recognized for his leadership in northern research, he served from 2004 to 2022 as Executive Director of ArcticNet and Sentinelle Nord, the two largest research programs of Université Laval. He also co-founded the Prix Inspiration Arctique, Canada’s largest annual prize, which supports innovation and leadership in northern communities. In recognition of his achievements, the Royal Canadian Geographical Society awarded him the Martin Bergmann Medal in 2017.
His extensive experience is a valuable asset to the Society’s Board of Directors and to the development of the Québec City Convention Centre.
The Board of Directors would like to thank Mr. Rénald Bergeron, whose term of office has ended, for his involvement and availability since joining the Board in 2019.
