Event Ambassadors Events

The development of sustainable infrastructure in cold regions and permafrost science will be the focus of discussions at an international conference bringing together 300 global experts at the Québec City Convention Centre from August 19 to 22, 2019. The 18th International Conference on Cold Regions Engineering and the 8th Canadian Permafrost Conference (ICCRE-CPC 2019) will address topics such as earth sciences, seasonal ground freezing and permafrost, construction and materials for cold regions, and water, seaway, and ice engineering.

Organized with the support of the Canadian Geotechnical Society, Québec Division – Cold Regions Section, the Permafrost Association of Canada, and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), ICCRE-CPC 2019 will highlight cutting-edge civil engineering research and the expertise of researchers at Université Laval.

This conference is being held thanks to a team led by civil engineer Guy Doré, a full professor in the Department of Civil and Water Engineering at the Université Laval Faculty of Science and Engineering. Also holder of the NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Heavy Load, Climate and Pavement Interaction (i3C) at Université Laval, Professor Doré is internationally recognized for his work on pavement engineering in cold regions. In addition to his professional activities, this scientist in the Québec City Ambassadors’ Club is involved in organizing conferences and conventions.
