VIEW Dance Challenge Comes to Québec City in 2020

VIEW Dance Challenge, Canada’s largest dance competition, will be held at the Québec City Convention Centre in March 2020. Québec City has recently joined the lineup of Canadian cities that host this annual event.

Approximately 1,000 dancers of various styles, ages, and skill levels from dance studios across the country will showcase their talent on stage at the Québec City Convention Centre. The young dancers will perform before a panel of judges who are all either international choreographers or professional dancers. Audiences will have the chance to see some 750 dance routines over the course of the four‑days competition.

VIEW Dance Challenge (VDC) was founded by Justin De Bernardi and Kristen Maurice, two professional dancers, teachers, and choreographers from Ryerson University in Toronto. De Bernardi and Maurice now produce and co-direct VIEW Dance Challenge and the annual VIEW Dance Convention. The best dancers at both events win scholarships, awards, and cash prizes. The prize for the top dance studio is a trip for two to the Caribbean. Throughout the season, young artists are invited to Greece for the VIEW Dance Challenge, an eight-day intensive dance and performance workshop led by international choreographers. VIEW Dance Challenge also holds a competition in Australia in the fall.

“We SEE the talent and passion in every performer that takes the stage, and recognize each dancer’s dedication to the art of dance. We strive to ensure that the entire community at each competition has a unique and memorable experience with VDC,” said VDC founder and CEO Justin De Bernardi.
