The Québec City Convention Centre welcomes three important societies

Destination and Attractions Economic Impact Events

From February 8 to 10, 2017, the Québec City Convention Centre played host to an important visit that promises to be lucrative for Québec. The Centre welcomed a dozen representatives from three different societies dedicated to peat moss, wetlands and soil rehabilitation: the Society for Wetlands Scientists (SWS), Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) and Canadian Land Reclamation Association (CLRA).

The two-day meetings and visit were highly successful and enabled representatives to lay the foundation of a first international meeting of the three scientific societies. Three conferences will be held simultaneously at the Québec City Convention Centre from June 8 to 12, 2020 and will attract 1500 delegates.

Ms. Line Rochefort, proud Québec City meetings and events ambassador and professor in Restoration Ecology at Université Laval’s Faculté des sciences de l’agriculture et de l’alimentation, worked for over two years to bring the three societies together.

The Convention Centre’s visitors explored Québec City in February—the ideal moment to discover the Québec City Winter Carnival!
