The Québec City Convention Centre shares its international summit-hosting expertise in Madagascar

Events

The triumphant organizational success of the 12th Summit of La Francophonie held in Québec City in 2008 continues to be felt to this day. Some thirty heads of state met at the Québec City Convention Centre during the celebrations for the 400th anniversary of Quebec City, the cradle of French North America.

On November 26 and 27, 2016, the city of Antananarivo in Madagascar will have the honor of hosting the 16th Summit of La Francophonie. On April 18th, management at the Québec City Convention Centre welcomed a Malagasy delegation composed of members of the national organizing committee in charge of the event. The committee was seeking to draw inspiration from Québec City’s success to help it prepare for the Summit in Madagascar.

At the request of Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie du Québec and the Government of Canada, four representatives of the Québec City Convention Centre have also been invited to Madagascar to share their expertise in hosting international summits. The four representatives are CEO P.-Michel Bouchard, Building Management and Event Support director
Marc Poirier, Customer Service Director Josette Alain, and André Beauchamp, General Manager of Capital HRS, the Centre’s exclusive food and beverage partner.

Our four specialists shared their knowledge, experience, and best practices in building management, coordination, logistics, food services, and many other aspects involved in hosting an international event of this scale.
