For the first time in its history, the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame will hold its prestigious induction gala in Québec City.
Some 400 leaders from the business, academic, and healthcare communities in Québec City and across Canada will take part in the event to be held at the Québec City Convention Centre on May 4, 2017.
Six outstanding Canadians, including Dr. Michel G. Bergeron, founder of the Université Laval Infectious Disease Research Centre (IDRC) in Québec City, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Every year, this national charity created in 1994 recognizes and celebrates the health heroes who have helped improve heath care in Canada and around the world and inspired others to pursue careers in health science.
The gala is presented by the Canadian Medical Association and co-sponsored by the Université Laval Faculty of Medicine. Université Laval rector Denis Brière and Dr. Rénald Bergeron, dean of the Faculty of Medicine, are the co-chairs of the induction committee.
