The Québec City Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s 34th Fidéides Awards Gala was held on March 16, 2017, at the Québec City Convention Centre. Over 725 business people from the greater Québec City area came together to celebrate the businesses that made their mark throughout the year. In total, 17 awards were handed out, including the Fidéide Business Event award.
P.-Michel Bouchard, CEO of the Québec City Convention Centre, had the honour of presenting the Fidéide Business Event award to Jean-Simon Deschênes in recognition of the JCI World Congress, one of the largest business event ever held in Québec City.
This major conference brought together 3,200 young professionals between the ages of 18 and 40 from 100 countries, and renowned speakers like Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield. In addition to creating international buzz and garnering the support of numerous businesses from the region, this event had a significant impact on the economy, generating $7 million for Québec’s capital city.
