Yves Desjardins, a full professor and researcher at the Université Laval’s Centre de recherche en horticulture (CRH) and Institut des nutraceutiques et des aliments fonctionnels (INAF) talks to Québec City Business Destination about how strawberries—yes, strawberries—attracted over 700 experts from over 30 countries to the Québec City Convention Centre in August 2016.
He delves into the fascinating world of strawberries, why they are so important for people’s health and how they, along with Québec City, welcomed researchers, producers, propagators, academics and business people to discuss the latest innovations in the strawberry industry.
Thanks to his involvement in several large-scale international events, Mr. Desjardins was awarded 2016 Ambassador of the Year for Québec City’s Ambassadors’ Club. His involvement is also behind the 8th International Conference on Polyphenols and Health, that will be held in October 2017.
Read his story on Québec City Business Destination’s blog.
