Health and Safety Measures for Your Events

Hygiene. Health. Safety. These three words are extremely important for us at the Québec City Convention Centre. However, these three words are not new to us as we have always been committed to surpassing the highest standards in health and safety.

Although several restrictions have been lifted for business events, meetings and conventions, your health and well-being are always our priority! The Québec City Convention Centre follows the recommendations put forward by the Government of Québec.

Overview of Our Sanitary Measures

We’ve upgraded the building and provide optimal housekeeping
- Mobile hand sanitizer gel stations in strategic locations,
- Constant supply of fresh air to Convention Centre indoor spaces (12 air exchanges per hour or more).
- Public areas and meeting rooms cleaned continuously,
- Touchless automatic door openers for washrooms; those that do not have one are kept open with a doorstopper,
Comfortable and reassuring spaces
- Well-designed visitor circulation in rooms, common areas, corridors, hall entrances and exits, etc.
Prevention measures
- Possibility of installing a health information kiosk staffed by a health professional (to answer questions, measure body temperature, provide masks if necessary, etc.) ($)
Redesigned food services, but still just as safe
- Reinforcement of procedures, cleaning and sanitation frequency of frequently used objects and surfaces,
- Escoffier service and ready-made meals to limit the handling of instruments, food and line-ups,
- Elimination of self-service stations requiring multiple handling and contact.
Effective visuals and communication
- Safety instructions posted on the floor and on the walls,
- Promotion of automatic drinking fountains, non-contact disinfectant gel, non-contact sinks, air exchanges, frequency of cleaning, etc.,
- Safety tips reminders via website, social media and dynamic signage,
- Guests presented with the measures taken to ensure their safety and well-being before and during the event.
Healthy staff
- Mandatory hand washing stations at the staff entrance as well as in the backstage areas and at the loading docks,
- Prohibition to report to work in case of flu or cold symptoms,
- Establishment of disinfection processes for work tools.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Essential Services

At the Québec City Convention Centre, we have the BEST cleaning and maintenance team around!

These professionals—who are anything but conventional—work very hard to keep our Centre safe. As they clean and push their carts around, you can see that they love their work by the constant smile they have on their faces. We are so proud of the quality of their work. Gone are the days that women and men who were part of cleaning and maintenance teams were relegated to doing their work as discreetly as possible. Today, cleaning and maintenance are essential services! We want to see them everywhere! For our partner, GDI Services aux immeubles, which spearheaded the Propreté en santé initiative, these technical cleaning experts do not clean for appearances. They clean to keep people healthy!
