The Qu\u00e9bec City Convention Centre is proud to have supported the 3\u00a0Things for Canada<\/a>\u00a0initiative by taking part in 3 acts of community service in 2017. The Centre\u2019s team has helped to reach the overall objective of 100 million things, whether large or small, as part of Canada\u2019s 150th<\/sup>\u00a0birthday celebrations. This very simple idea, launched by the mayor of Calgary to encourage his fellow citizens to do three things to improve their city, has snowballed in organizations and municipalities across Canada.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Here is what the Qu\u00e9bec City Convention Centre team did to give back to the community:<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

May 2017<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

The team held a fundraising campaign for the victims of the spring flooding that affected Qu\u00e9bec. A total of $2680 was donated to the\u00a0Red Cross\u2019 Spring Flood Appeal<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

The team also harvested vegetables and herbs on Promenade Desjardins at the Qu\u00e9bec City Convention Centre. This food was donated to Le Pignon Bleu<\/a>, a multiservice community organization that works with children aged 0 to 12 years, families and unemployed persons in Qu\u00e9bec City.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The team collected toys for the 16th<\/sup> edition of the Parade des jouets de Qu\u00e9bec<\/a>,<\/em> a traditional toy parade in downtown Qu\u00e9bec City.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

The heat organized a free reception, hosted by the Qu\u00e9bec City Convention Centre, to thank some 200 external volunteers who gave their time for No\u00ebl des enfants<\/a>, a fundraising campaign to help underprivileged children in the Qu\u00e9bec City region.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
