S. Schrobilgen<\/a>\u00a0(McMaster University), and Jocelyn Guertin, Sales Manager\u00a0on the international market at the Qu\u00e9bec City Convention Centre.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div  class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph component-no-padding \" ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>At the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fluorine-como2015.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"\">21<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;ISFC and ISoFT \u201915<\/a>, held in Italy August 23\u201328, our ambassador convinced his peers to opt for Qu\u00e9bec City\u2019s bid. It has been over 20 years since the last Canadian edition of the symposium took place in Vancouver in 1997. ISFC is held every three years, whereas the two symposiums are held jointly every six years.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div  class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph component-no-padding \" ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>Professor Paquin is very active within the international chemistry community, and has given more than 60 presentations and guest lectures at various congresses, conferences, and universities. In his work at Universit\u00e9 Laval, the researcher and his team develop new methods for synthesizing organofluorine compounds of interest in the fields of organic and medicinal chemistry.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div  class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph component-no-padding \" ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The symposiums not only generate prestige and visibility in the international scientific community, they are also expected to generate over $1 million in economic spinoffs for the Qu\u00e9bec City
