Supporting Intellectual Advances<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Benefiting from privileged partnerships with the scientific community and active participation in events related to Qu\u00e9bec City’s key industries<\/a>, the Qu\u00e9bec City Convention Centre takes pride in supporting local intellectual advances while fostering collective involvement.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

During ACCESSE23<\/a>, the Convention Centre team, on behalf of attendees, donated $1,000 to Le Pignon Bleu, accompanied by messages encouraging young people to stay in school. Thanks to this initiative, 2,000 local children received a morning snack at Le Pignon Bleu.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

In October 2023, the Convention Centre was a Gold Partner of the 32nd<\/sup> edition of the Journ\u00e9es scientifiques de la recherche de l’Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Qu\u00e9bec, awarding scholarships to two Universit\u00e9 Laval students.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Fighting Food Insecurity<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Food waste has always been a major concern for the Centre’s team and its exclusive food and beverage partner, Maestro Culinaire. Production surpluses are redistributed every year to local organizations to feed those in need. In 2023, this amounted to over 4,800 kg of food donated to organizations such as Lauberivi\u00e8re, Les enfants d’amour (Madame Brissette), Moisson Qu\u00e9bec, etc.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Last summer, harvests from the urban garden<\/a> on Promenade Desjardins not only supplied Maestro Culinaire’s Executive Chef but also facilitated donations to various Qu\u00e9bec City food banks, in collaboration with Urbainculteurs.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

For the holiday season, the Qu\u00e9bec City Convention Centre translated the generosity of its customers and staff into action: through its traditional virtual greeting card, $2,500 was raised for Le Pignon Bleu, in addition to food and goods collected for Moisson Qu\u00e9bec during in-house festivities.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n<\/div>\n\n

In 2023, the Enjoy your badge<\/a> program was back in full force, with around 30 participating companies. Since 2018, this initiative by the Qu\u00e9bec City Convention Centre has aimed to encourage the local economy while enhancing the experience of event attendees in Qu\u00e9bec City. With over 200,000 visitors each year, the Convention Centre’s presence in the heart of lively Old Qu\u00e9bec, filled with shops and restaurants, stimulates the local economy from the outset.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
