We owe this excellent news for Qu\u00e9bec City\u2019s meeting and event industry and its impact on our key industries to Laurent Bouyer<\/a> and Jean-S\u00e9bastien Roy<\/a>, two professors from the Rehabilitation Department of the Faculty of Medicine at Universit\u00e9 Laval, who are also researchers at the Centre interdisciplinaire de recherche en r\u00e9adaptation et int\u00e9gration sociale (CIRRIS<\/a>). The latter will co-chair the event. The local organizing committee will include colleagues from Universit\u00e9 Laval and expert researchers in the fields of rehabilitation, engineering, neurophysiology and biomechanics.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

This will only be the 4th time in 54 years that the ISEK has been held in Canada; the first edition took place in Montr\u00e9al in 1968. Since then, the international conference has been traveling between North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

The 23th edition of the ISEK was to be held in Nagoya, Japan. Due to the current situation related to COVID-19, the Japanese organizers chose to hold the event virtually from July 12 to 14, 2020. Initially, the Qu\u00e9bec City edition\u2019s co-organizers had to travel to Japan to promote their destination; however, this change has provided them an opportunity to welcome their peers and invite them, in large numbers, to Qu\u00e9bec City in 2022 via a special video message.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
