$50 million in economic spinoffs for Québec City

Economic Impact Events

Convention season is in full swing at the Québec City Convention Centre. Between now and late December 2018, over 51,000 delegates will attend 66 events, including 24 conventions. These delegates and visitors will generate 53,000 room-nights in Québec City hotels and over $50 million in economic spinoffs. Convention Centre teams will pull out all the stops to ensure the events are successful and provide the exemplary customer service that the Québec City Convention Centre is known for.

The Convention Centre makes positive economic contributions to Québec City’s restaurants, shops and businesses, cultural and tourist sites, service providers, carriers, and more. Its impact is also felt at a number of offsite venues, including the Voltigeurs de Québec Armoury, Salle des promotions, and Pavillon Pierre-Lassonde of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec which regularly host banquets, galas, and receptions as a result of events that take place at the Convention Centre.

Event confirmation – April 1 to September 30, 2018

In the first quarter (April 1 to September 30, 2018), the Québec City Convention Centre’s team booked 116 events, including 41 national and 10 international conferences to be held between now and 2022. These events will bring over 58,000 business tourists to Québec City.
