Québec City to welcome the chefs of 5 heads of state from around the world

In an effort to promote the destination and the high quality of its gastronomy, Québec City will welcome February 9 to 15, 2014, 5 members of the prestigious and select Club des Chefs des Chefs. A partnership between the Québec City Convention Centre, Québec City Tourism, Le Groupe le Massif de Charlevoix, and CBC will bring 5 chefs of heads of state to town to prepare a fundraising luncheon for Le Pignon Bleu at the Québec City Convention Centre next February 10.

In addition to the luncheon, the week’s activities will showcase local and regional producers as well as the expertise of regional chefs. The chefs will tour Charlevoix, staying at Hôtel La Ferme, and visit Wendake following an afternoon of ice fishing. They will also take advantage of their trip to share their expertise at a special cooking class for professionals.

“We are delighted to play host to these five very accomplished chefs who work behind the scenes to see to the dining needs and well-being of the world’s great and powerful—our heads of state,” said Mr. P.-Michel Bouchard, CEO of the Québec City Convention Centre. “These culinary ambassadors are giving generously of their time and experience to young people in support of a very noble cause. The event will put Québec City and Charlevoix in the global spotlight,” he added with pride.

The five visiting chefs:

Mr. Christian Garcia, chef to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco
Mr. Bernard Vaussion, chef to the President of the French Republic, François Hollande
Ms. Cristeta Comerford, chef to the President of the United States, Barack Obama
Mr. Fabrizio Boca, chef to the President of the Republic of Italy, Georgio Napolitano
Mr. Hilton Little, chef to three presidents of the Republic of South Africa, including Nelson Mandela.

And Mr. Gilles Bragard, founder of the Club des Chefs des Chefs.
